How To Organise A Great Easter Party
Easter is a great time to plan a get together with your friends and have a nice time enjoying the Bank Holiday and hopefully the first few rays of sunshine of the year. To make your event stand out, be memorable and look extra festive in your photos here’s all the essentials you’re going to need.
Chocolate Eggs
You’ve probably already seen them flooding all the supermarket shelves, chocolate eggs of various colours and sizes are a must of the season. Spread some small ones around your table and use the bigger ones as centrepieces for your decor or to share them amongst you later; that’s every chocoholic’s dream.
Baked Treats
While chocolate seems to hold a prominent place within Easter food, other delicious treats such as egg nests, cookies and cake can be used to complete your easter menu. In this case it’s all about the decorating, so go for things in bright colours and festive shapes and you’ll have a success in your hands.
Hot Cross Buns
Good old hot cross buns… you got to have them! While you are supposed to have them on Good Friday instead, we usually extend this to the whole Easter weekend as we really enjoy their taste and they are great for breakfast. For your party you can have them plain for a less indulgent option or have a look at ways to repurpose them and transform them into a great dessert.
Bright Cocktails & Mocktails
Easter is usually full of colours and when it comes to drinks, what better way to express your creativity than to make fun colourful cocktails. Mix different juices together, add bits of fruits and top them off with your favourite spirit, or leave them be for a non alcoholic option. Mason jars, colourful glasses and pretty straws will complete the look and make your creations stand out.
Chickens and Bunnies
We may never find out whether the chicken or the egg came first, but the easter bunny definitely ran faster than both of them. Apart from using little chicks and bunnies as patterns for your baked goods, you can decorate everything around you with them. From window decorations to cuddly toys, candles and clay decorations, you will have plenty of options to make everything look extra festive.
Fresh Flowers
Since it’s spring time, take advantage of what nature has to offer by adding fresh flowers to your event. Flower pots, nice flower arrangements and colourful vases will brighten up the space and lift your mood, especially if it’s still a bit too cold to sit outside. These lovely flowers are by ProFlowers, where you can get a beautiful arrangement for your event, including the vase, without the hassle of doing it yourself.
Festive Accessories
To up the level of festive fun, you can leave some easter accessories out for you and your guests. Animal onesies, especially chickens and bunnies, are great for that and will be quite fun to walk around in. For a more conservative look you can try animal printed tops or bunny ears, which you can put on when you feel like it but also take off if you are not that comfortable wearing them all day.
Fun Games & Activities
Every good party needs some fun things to do with your friends. The obvious one is an Easter Egg Hunt, either by solving clues by just having a look around the venue (gardens are ideal for this). Other ideas include racing with eggs on a spoon without dropping them and sack races. If you are having a girls only party you can also consider cupcake or biscuit decorating and flower crown making so you can have something to take away from the event.
Whatever you decide to do this Easter, make sure to have some good friends to spend the day with and have lots of fun together. And if you don’t want to bother with all the planning you can also join some fun easter socials on citysocializer.
