How To Spice Up Your After Work Drinks

After work drinks are amongst our most popular socials, so we decided we’d give you some ideas so you can spice things up a bit.

1. Organise your own pub crawl

The great thing about England is that there’s a pub around every corner. Whether you go down the main high street or around a small neighbourhood, all you need is about 5 pubs and a grading system. For example, a beer or cider gets you 7 points, a spirit with a mixer 10 and shots get you 5 points each. Water and not drinking at one of the pubs cost you 10 points. You can also challenge each other to do funny stuff for extra points and for the laughs.

2. Set an easy fancy dress theme

This is perfect both for people who love fancy dress and those who don’t. There is no need for elaborate costumes, just set a colour theme and wear your normal clothes. Imagine everyone turning up wearing blue. It’s an easy and fun idea and you can take lots of photos that will look really cool.

3. Play drinking games

Drinking games are what you used to do back in university and you may not think to suggest playing one any more. However we have found that once you start playing everyone ends up having a great time so start thinking of some fun dares and what you can say when it’s your turn in I have never.

4. Have a karaoke competition

You don’t need to participate in a real competition to do this. Just go to a karaoke bar with your group have a mini contest amongst you. To make it more fun you can select each other’s songs or pick them from a jar. At the end buy the winner a drink because they are awesome.

5. Ask for a surprise cocktail

If you’ve had enough of the same pints and the classic mojito ask the bartender to make you his favourite cocktail. He will be happy to be making a drink he loves and you’ll get to try something new. A lot of bars have a happy hour with 2 for 1 cocktails so you will not even have to pay extra for those delicious new drinks.

6. Bring your favourite board game to the pub

Don’t wait till you happen to be at a pub that has board games. Bring your favourite game from home, book a big table and play with your friends. You can bring anything from Charades, Uno, Monopoly, Jenga etc and have lots of fun with your friends.

7. Create a world food bucket list

If you and your friends love food you can make it your regular mission to try a different world cuisine every week. Make a list of the different world cuisines you want to sample and tick them off every time. If you are a super foodie you could even start a blog about your experiences and share the food with the rest of the world. We all love a cheeky food photo after all.

8. Host your own quiz night

Ask everyone in your group to bring in 5 questions. Then go around the table and ask your questions to the rest of the group. You can also make a drinking game out of it and drink every time you answer something wrong.

Bottoms up!
