Most Popular 2021 New Year’s Resolutions
Happy New Year! We made it! And boy are we glad to see the back of 2020. Now, this next year should be unashamedly about YOU.
Whether you’re reflecting on the last year or thinking ahead to what you want this next 12 months to be like, we thought we’d share this year’s most popular new years resolutions and how, lockdown or not, we can help you start them:
Because 2020 was the year of isolation, we know that 2021 is going to be the year of connection and an excellent year for making new friends!
And you don’t need to wait until you can go out to meet people either. You can start right now by joining any of our myriad of virtual social events from book clubs and board games to karaoke and quiz nights (and everything in between!) to get to know new people through shared social experiences online over time with a view to meet up in person with the ones you click with once guidelines permit.
More than 80% of our community who attended virtual events last year want them to continue once the pandemic is over because of the benefits they bring in meeting new friends.
We know now more than ever how important it is to look after ourselves to be able to maintain resilience and a positive mind-set through hard times.
Throughout 2021 we welcome you to join our virtual self-care events and workshops to help you stay on top of and improve your mental health, from professionally Guided Meditations and Bedtime Meditation sessions to live Restorative Yoga classes and Mindfulness & Relaxation workshops.
Even if the gyms are shut or you’re still not sure about going back, we have created a program of live weekly virtual group exercise classes that give you the camaraderie and familiarity of real-world classes from the safety of home — all hosted by professional teachers and trainers who will help you to achieve your best level of fitness at a pace that is suited to you.
We’ve developed a holistic program to take you right through the week, from stress-relieving Yoga classes every Tuesday for strength and flexibility and calorie-blasting music-based Zumba workouts on Wednesdays, to high intensity 30-minute HIIT sessions every Friday morning and Pilates classes on Saturdays to improve your muscle tone, balance and posture.
Doing something different, learning a new skill or getting out of your comfort zone can be a scary but exhilarating experience but also a really good way to make new friends.
We don’t often find ways to express ourselves creatively either so we’ve come up with some fab virtual events and workshops to ease your way into trying new things and exploring new sides of yourself, from Music & Theatre Dance Classes and Sip & Doodle Sundays, to Theatre, Performance & Storytelling workshops, an Indian Cooking class, Paint Pouring workshop and more.
Or, if you have a skill or passion to share or maybe you miss organising social events and you’d like to try your hand at hosting your own virtual events in 2021 then we want to hear from you!
Sign up to Citysocializer today and make 2021 your year of new connections, camaraderie and a new you.
